Kay set up Blackstone Physiotherapy in 1999 from which time it has continued to expand and is one of the most rapidly developing Private Physiotherapy Clinics in Northern Ireland. Kay qualified from the University of Ulster in 1985 and has gained experience in many areas of Physiotherapy. She previously worked as Clinical Tutor in Musgrave Park Hospital, Belfast and is a recognised teacher at the University of Ulster.

Kay has training in Acupuncture, Body Control Pilates, Orthopaedic Medicine, Manipulation, Biomechanics, Adult and Paediatric Neurology.

Kay is the Regional Representative for the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists. She has become an MBT retailer and has been awarded Accredited Retailer Award ensuring excellence in fitting and advising in the use of this Physiological Footwear.

As well as treating patients,she manages the Practice ensuring all areas maintain excellence. Kay started Pilates Classes in 2003 and there are now 11 classes running each week. She has a keen interest in educating patients to have better posture in order to minimise pain and dysfunction.

She has attended the European Hockey Championships as Physiotherapist for the Irish boys in 2002 and several other tournaments following this.

Kay has recently been developing Corporate Physiotherapy for businesses in an attempt to reduce sickness absence due to musculoskeletal disorders.

Philip qualified from the University of Ulster in 2006 and has since developed a keen interest in Sports Medicine. He has gained invaluable experience working with Wallace High School 1st XV over the last 4 years and also helped out with the Ulster School’s side.

Philip has worked in Blackstone Physiotherapy from September 2006 and has post-graduate training in Acupuncture, Core Stability and Pilates. He continues to pursue his interest in Sports Rehabilitation and current research in this area.

Libby qualified from the University of Ulster in 1983 and has specialised in Rheumatology. She worked for many years as a Senior Physiotherapist in Musgrave Park Hospital, Belfast, and her work included Hydrotherapy and Specialised Exercise.

Libby joined the Clinic in 2003 and has now specialised training in Pilates with both Body Control Pilates and The Australian Physiotherapy & Pilates Institute. In her spare time she is involved with Riding for the Disabled.

Heather qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1981 and worked abroad in South Africa, then retuning closer to home worked in Dublin. She then settled back to work in Northern Ireland at the major Belfast hospitals. Heather has worked as a Senior Physiotherapist in many areas of Physiotherapy however principally in the rehabilitation of neurologically impaired people; Acquired Brain Injury, Stroke and Multiple Sclerosis

Heather has recently joined the team at Blackstone Physiotherapy and has also completed training as a Pilates Instructor in Pilates Tone. Heather takes many of the Classes in Portadown and also in Moira.

Jenny is the friendly face and voice you will come in contact with when first contacting Blackstone Physiotherapy! She has been with the Clinic for 3 years and is everyone’s ‘right hand woman’!! Jenny will deal with any of your enquiry’s in relation to appointments, payments, pilates, health insurance etc. She is also trained in the fitting of MBT’s and loves wearing her own!!
